You know that colourful group who’s always showing off their pride? That needs their voices to be heard by a society that sometimes shuns their presence? That group about whom parents say “I sure hope my kids don’t choose that lifestyle when they grow up.” You know that one?
Yeah, the LGMB+ community. Lady Godiva Memorial Bnad, Renegade Musical Terrorists, Marching Gregorian Chant Society, and White Noise Brigade? Them.
What? You though I was talking about the gays? The LGBTQ+ community? Noooooo. They aren’t similar at all! You could never confuse the two.
Hmmm. Well I see that the acronyms are a little similar (now that I’m looking at it). But that’s it. A superficial similarity, really. That’s all there is to it.
There’s a really simple way to distinguish between them, trust me. The LGMB is always blowing horns and trumpets but the LGBT is always… um… other things. Well, maybe that’s not too helpful, but I’ve got another one! The LGBT love to wear flags as capes ALL the TIME, but the LGMB they… they do that too? Darn it.
Ooooh! I’ve got it! There’s one place you can go and see the LGBT without the LGMB being there! The Toronto Pride parade! It’s an event specifically for the LGBT community, so if you’re ever in doubt, that’s where you can find just the LGBT. Wait… every year? YOU’RE TELLING ME LGMB MARCHES IN IT EVERY—-
